Some environments require a very accurate and uniform time, not only for the clocks but also for different types of time related equipment. From a high precision time base, clocks, computers, instruments and information boards etc, should be synchronised to accurate time. Such requirements exist for example in airports, railways, large hospitals and process industry.

Westerstrand high precision system- PROLINE - is a modular ‘plug-in’ system of units that enables very large possibilities to design a system so that it meet the requirements for every specific installation. A radio synchronised (e.g. DCF or GPS) time base distributes the correct time to all connected time related units in the system also including telephone system, CCTV, SCADA, etc.

The time base sends accurate time either by impulses or as coded messages (TC) to all units in the system. Time messages sent to other connected systems is in serial code. Code in IRIG-B format can also be sent from the time base. Programmable relays for control of energy consumers e.g. lightning, is integrated in PROLINE. Programming of the relays can be done with a PC. PROLINE can also work as a time server in LAN/WAN.

Existing cabling can in most cases be used.
